Crystal River Auto Accident

CRYSTAL RIVER FLORIDA

Crystal River is located northwest of the center of Citrus County on the northeast side of Kings Bay and the Crystal River, an inlet of the Gulf of Mexico.  U.S. Highway Routes 19 and 98 pass through the center of the city, leading south 7 miles to Homosassa Springs and north 46 miles to Chiefland.  State Road 44 leads east from Crystal River 17 miles to Inverness, the Citrus County seat.  With numerous large fresh water springs and miles of gin clear saltwater flats, Crystal River is considered by many to be the heart of the Nature Coast of Florida.

Crystal River is a popular year-round international tourist destination, as it provides many outdoor activities for its residents and guests, including boating, diving, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, as well as a variety of Manatee or Eco-Tours.  Crystal River boasts two waterfront parks, King's Bay Park and Hunter's Springs Park, for visitors to enjoy.  Along with the other activities Crystal River has a multi-use Cross-Town path for walking, jogging or biking.

AUTO ACCIDENTS CRYSTAL RIVER

Like other states, Florida has a statute of limitations for filing a negligence lawsuit. Under Florida Statutes Section 95.11, you have between two to four years from the date of the accident in which to file a claim; two years to file a wrongful death action, and four years to file an action founded on negligence. Your complaint will state the reasons that make you, the plaintiff, entitled to money from the at fault driver, the defendant.

Motor vehicle accidents are unexpected and frightening experiences.  They oftentimes happen because one or more people failed to use reasonable care in driving. The most common vehicle accident cases are those based on the theory of negligence. You, the plaintiff, must prove:
the defendant owed a duty,
the defendant breached that duty,
the breach was the "proximate" and actual cause of an injury or loss and;
that there were damages.

If you are able to prove evidence of all four of the above elements, you may be able to recover past, present and future medical expenses and property damages. A good lawyer can also help you recover additional out-of-pocket expenses such as past, present and future wage loss; loss of companionship and enjoyment of a loved one; and pain and suffering.
